My name is Ellen, and I am about to enter my last year of undergrad at George Mason University. I am studying History (LOVE), and hopefully minoring in German, if scheduling works out. I guess I'm your normal college student. I spent most of Freshman year worrying about my social life rather than school work. No worries though, my grades are perfectly fine. I am in a sorority, I have an on-campus job, and I'm currently working my ass off to make myself a competitive candidate for graduate school.
As a graduation present to myself, my younger sister and I have decided to spend a month Summer 2013 backpacking through Europe. I made this blog as a source not only to chronicle the adventure and mistakes I'm positive we will make, but as a tool that other students can use as inspiration or motivation for their own trips.
I guess if you want to know more about the girl behind the trip, I can give you a little more insight.
Favorite Music: Tyler Hilton, The Beatles, Justin Nozuka, Maroon 5, Gavin Degraw, James Morrison, Matt Nathanson, and I'm still a kid heart so I've been known to blast out to NSYNC, Backstreet Boys and O-Town
Favorite Movies: I LOVE Will Ferrell movies. I'm so excited for the Anchorman and Zoolander sequels.
Favorite TV Shows: Criminal Minds, So You Think You Can Dance, Jeopardy even though I shout out wrong answers more than right, One Tree Hill, Once Upon a Time, True Blood, Game of Thrones
Favorite Books: I'm going to be completely honest. If you don't like Harry Potter, there is a decent chance that I will consider not being friends with you. I'm only half kidding. I've read all of the True Blood series and Hunger Games books. I am going to start reading the Game of Thrones series. I really like Of Mice and Men, The Notebook, and The Princess Bride. I swear have other favorites, but I just can't remember them at this moment. I'm currently reading In the Garden of Beasts by Erik Larson.
Dream Destination: As of right now Ireland, but it changes every month or so.
I'm ready for this trip. Bring. It. On.
